VR Storytelling is an interactive experience design developed by Apollo XR, inviting participants to create their own narratives through virtual reality. Created as part of ICAF, the project aims to transform storytelling back into a collective experience.

Throughout the experience, participants journey through a series of 360-degree videos from different locations around the world using VR headsets.
Moving between mountaintops, seaside landscapes, and entirely different atmospheres, users encounter unrelated three-dimensional objects such as socks, pens, and other everyday items. By focusing on these objects for a certain amount of time, participants transition into a new scene, allowing the experience to unfold through a nonlinear narrative structure.
Consisting of 11 different video scenes, the experience encourages participants to become not only viewers but also storytellers. After the experience, participants write or draw their own stories through free association based on what they saw and felt. These creations are then exhibited around the space, transforming the environment itself into a living gallery of collective storytelling.
Humanity began telling stories in caves. For centuries, storytelling has been a way of bringing people together, creating spaces for imagination, reflection, and shared experiences. Today, however, technology often functions as a passive consumption tool. VR Storytelling reconsiders technology not as something that dulls imagination, but as a creative medium that helps people build new connections between images, memories, and thoughts.
With this project, Apollo XR approaches virtual reality not merely as a technological tool, but as an experiential narrative space that encourages thinking, imagining, and collective story creation.
